While covering Murrieta’s seventh annual Veterans Day parade yesterday, I turned my back to the fanfare and looked into the crowd. It wasn’t long before I found uniformed members of the military, watching with their children.
After waiting over an hour to make a few frames of a father and his daughter, I walked to Town Square Park to photograph people strolling between 1,200 American flags. I immediately ran into a similar pairing of a uniformed mother and her son.
Both of these parents have left or will leave their families for a tour in Iraq.
